Effutu Development Foundation

Sports

Football is an important sporting activity in Winneba. There are a number of football teams here including keep fit clubs that also engage in football to keep fit in the early hours of the weekends.

Choral groups

The largest social arena is the choral groups in Winneba. Pioneered by the Winneba Methodist Church and its youth choir in the early 1990s, the establishment of the Winneba Youth Choir out of the church led to the establishment of youth choirs around the country later in the 1990s.

Today virtually every town in Ghana has a youth choir as well as in the churches. They perform in and out of Winneba at every kind of social gathering. Popular ones are:
